Lauren Shearer is a co-owner of Cultured Analysis LLC, an analytical laboratory that specializes in kombucha testing and consulting. Lauren earned her B.S. degree in chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Shippensburg University. Over the past three years, her research has focused on exploring different aspects of kombucha such as alcohol production, acidity, and alternative brewing approaches. She is motivated to use her scientific background as an avenue to better understand the fermentation process. Her favorite part of working in the kombucha industry is connecting with kombucha brewers and learning their stories.
